Simchat Torah

Simchat Torah

A festive Family Simchat Torah service commemorates the giving of Torah to the Jewish people. Our service includes klezmer music, and the unrolling of the Torah in order to surround the congregation with God’s words. This is one of our congregation’s favorite holidays.

On Erev Simchat Torah, we dance with the Torahs in celebration. Together we unroll our Torahs and enjoy the opportunity to celebrate our Jewish heritage.

This year’s Simchat Torah events include:

Friday, October 25th at 5:00 pm – Family Shabbat & Simchat Torah Experience w/ Pizza Dinner

Friday, October 25th at 6:00 pm – Community Shabbat & Simchat Torah Service and Dinner.  Celebrate Shabbat and Simchat Torah with Miami KlezmerBand, inviting us to sing and dance with the Torah. As is traditional, we will mark the conclusion of the annual Torah cycle and then return to the very beginning to hear the first verses of Torah too. We will also offer a special blessing for our school students. Please stay for dinner following the service.

Saturday, October 26th at 10:30 am – Simchat Torah Morning Yizkor Experience and BYO Lunch Gather for a meaningful Yizkor memorial service to remember our loved ones, followed by Bring-Your-Own Lunch outside in the Waterview Courtyard.
