Temple Israel has been selected to participate in the Golden Hanassi Fellows Program! Established by Temple Israel congregants Suzanne & John Golden, the Golden Hanassi Fellowship program places HUC-JIR Israel Rabbinical Program students and recent alumni in North American Reform congregations for a residency mentored by specially selected Reform rabbis. Rabbi Miriam Klimova will be joining us at Temple Israel from November 4-17, 2025, and returning for a second visit in the beginning of 2026. Born and raised in Ukraine, she grew up in a Reform congregation where she was active in her community. Rabbi Klimova’s studies took her to Moscow and Poland where she served as both a prayer leader and gifted teacher. In 2018, Rabbi Klimova made aliyah to Israel and was ordained as a rabbi from HUC-JIR in November 2023. Rabbi Klimova serves a community in Haifa, working closely with the Russian-speaking and Ukrainian-speaking Jewish communities, creating a meaningful spiritual home for Israelis of all backgrounds.
