West Palm Beach Pantry

Note: At this current time of social distancing, Temple Israel volunteers are making efforts in the collection of non-perishable food donations but are not physically volunteering at the pantry.

The Food Pantry location where Temple Israel participates is at Urban League’s Community Services Center, 2107 North Tamarind Avenue, West Palm Beach, which is in the heart of a neighborhood considered a “food desert” – void of any decent grocery stores.  We are one of five founding-supporting congregations of this Pantry and we provide volunteers twice each month.

Volunteer tasks include unpacking delivered cartons of food, organizing and stocking the shelves, preparing the grocery bags for distribution, greeting and registering clients, and managing data entry of recipients.

This Pantry only provides shelf-stabilized food products plus some housecleaning and personal hygiene needs.

Donations that always are appreciated:

Peanut butter
Rice
Beans (dried or canned)
Canned protein (meats, chicken, tuna, salmon, chili, etc.)
Tomato sauce
Pasta (dry or canned)
Canned fruits & vegetables
Cereal
Baby Food & Formula
Condiments such as mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard
Bar or liquid bath soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste/floss, toilet paper, diapers (infant & adult)
