Tribute Funds

Here is a complete list of the funds and their descriptions. Please know we appreciate your thoughtfulness in supporting Temple Israel by remembering and honoring your friends and loved ones through your generous contributions.

Beautification Fund
Provides funds for miscellaneous items to make our Temple a prettier place.

Bernard Rakoff Scholarship Fund
A Brotherhood fund that helps children attend summer camps and visit Israel.

Cantor’s Discretionary Fund
Funds used by Cantor Offenkrantz for various activities and needs.

Cecil Vineberg Floral Fund
Provides funds for bimah flowers when there is no Shabbat sponsorship.

Dr. Warren Canfield Music Fund
Funds for additional sheet music, choir accessories, and other music requirements.

Formal Jewish Education
for Youth Fund
Scholarship funds and miscellaneous needs for religious school classes.

Informal Jewish Learning
for Youth Fund
Provides funds for programming and trips outside the classroom.

Judaica Fund
Supports acquisition of antique judaica artworks.

Kraft Family Life Education Fund
Provides funds for family programs.

Leadership Development Fund
Enables lay leaders to attend national conventions; brings speakers to strengthen our leadership.

Library Fund
Purchases books, supports administrative assistance and funds media center.

Minsky Early Childhood Enrichment Fund
Helps present programs for pre-school and young children.

Mitzvah Fund
Enables us to send flowers and well-wishes to our congregants for happy occasions or illnesses.

Prayer Book/Torah Commentary Fund
Prayer books purchased in memory of or in honor of a loved one.

Rabbi’s Caring Concerns Fund
Funds used by Rabbi Chapin for various activities and needs.

Rabbi Emeritus
Continuing Education Fund
Enables Rabbi Howard Shapiro to continue his Spirituality studies.

Religious Practices
Programming Fund
Provides funds for “out of the box” programs for our congregants.

Social Action Fund
Supports community needs programs in our “tikkun olam” program.

Social Hall/Kitchen Fund
Helps supply needed items for our Temple’s social hall and kitchen.

Temple Special Needs Fund
For all of the things we need that are not covered anywhere else.

Tishman Memorial Fund
In honor of Cissie Tishman, this fund helps educate our religious school teachers and educators.

Youth Group Fund
Provides much needed funds for our pre-teen and teen groups for a multitude of activities.
