Losing Faith: a Jewish Perspective
with Rabbi Elliott Spar
11/13 & 11/20
10:30 to noon at the JCC

How does our tradition deal with losing faith? Is there room
for doubt in Jewish theology? The Rabbis teach us that we
are permitted to argue with God about anything, as long as it
is for a just cause: A din Torah mit Gott. What lessons can
we draw from this aphorism? Join Rabbi Spar for an
insightfully stimulating discussion about what our traditions,
and others, teach us about struggling with belief.

Congregants: $18.00
Non-Members: $25.00

The Bible, Archaeology and the Faith of Israel
with Dr. Sig Stahl
10:30 am - 12:00 noon at the JCC

Please note change in start date – the class begins on November 17th
Did Abraham exist? Where was the City of David? What
happened to Jericho’s walls? Does archaeology prove the
veracity of Biblical truth? Does the Bible need archaeological
confirmation? Join Dr. Stahl in an exploration of truth,

provable and mythic.
Congregants: $25.00
Non-Members: $36.00

The Rabbis Teach
with Dr. Sig Stahl
10:30 am – 12:00 noon at the JCC

Please note change in start date: the class begins on November 19th
What did (and do) the Rabbis really teach? Are there lessons
relevant to Jewish life in the 21st century? Join Dr. Stahl
for an exploration of Aristotelian ethics to Mussar, dealing
with moral dilemmas facing Jews then and now.

Congregants: $25.00
Non-Members: $36.00
